Kaskade, a Vocal House Artist

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Ryan Raddon, better known as Kaskade, is a DJ/Remixer/Producer from Chicago, Illinois. He was born in 1972 and grew up in Salt Lake City in Utah. He eventually relocated to San Francisco, California and calls this city his home. Before going into recording, he was a club DJ and a record store owner in Utah.

When his wife moved to San Francisco, he got as job as at OM Records as an A&R man. The work entailed reviewing demos and picking out talented artists from the pile. Kaskade also submitted his own work which would open a lot of doors for him.

In 2001, his work changed from listening to others to becoming an artist himself. “It’s You”, his first album, was released in 2003 and was received well by both critics and an appreciative audience. However, it was a later album, “In the Moment” in 2004, which would put him on the map.

The first single, “Steppin’ Out” became a huge hit on the airwaves. It also reached the top 10 of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart. His biggest break came in the May of 2005 when the follow-up single “Everything” rocketed to the top of the charts.
