What is Vocal House?

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Vocal house is experiencing resurgence in popularity as more artists start to rediscover its musical qualities. This musical genre reached its peak during the late 1980s and up to the early 1990s. This music is characterized by piano breaks in the tune and deep vocals (usually sung by jazz divas). The tune is also usually accompanied by soulful lyrics about love and other topics.

The United States is said to be the birthplace of vocal chords. However, the Balearics and Italy also influenced the later version of this genre. A lot of vocal house artists today include horns, jazz loops, and basslines into their music. There is no doubt that this genre will continue to evolve to suit the changing taste of the times.

Some of the more popular vocal chords artists include the Freemasons, David Morales, Offer Nissim, Star Tattooed, and the Kaskade.
